On October 5, we will celebrate with those ready to take the step of water baptism.
WHAT IS BAPTISM?
Baptism is a powerful spiritual act. When you go under the water, it represents leaving behind the old life. When you rise out of the water, it symbolizes new life in Christ.
Baptism can be a meaningful expression of faith for many reasons:
You’ve been living away from the Lord and want a fresh start.
You are new in faith and want to declare your old self-reliant life dead.
You are seeking to be filled and overflowing with the Holy Spirit.
You are putting to death a harmful habit or addiction.
You are yielding to God’s direction after a season of resistance.
You were baptized as a child and want to renew your commitment.
You were baptized before but now have a deeper understanding of what it means.
WHO CAN GET BAPTIZED?
At New Horizon, we believe anyone old enough to understand that they have made the decision to follow Jesus Christ is ready to be baptized. As a general guideline, we suggest children be at least 10 years old so they can fully understand and apply their faith. Ultimately, the decision with children is best made in partnership with their parents.
“Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? Therefore, we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.”

BAPTISM CLASS
There will be a baptism class at 9 AM on October 5 for everyone being baptized that morning.
