Hi, I’m Shelby Schena! The artist behind the Moonrise Menagerie brand. I’ve always been fascinated by the paranormal and the spirit world. Growing up in a haunted house meant ghostly encounters were just part of life. I believe part of my deep connection to the other side comes from being stillborn, which may explain why I’ve always had one foot in this world and one in the next.
I’m a third-generation intuitive, with gifts running through both sides of my family. My great-aunts read tea leaves and crystal balls, my great-great-grandfather in Nova Scotia was known as water witch, using dowsing rods to find water, my grandmother could see auras, my great-grandmothers could read a deck of cards prophetically, and my mom, who introduced me to tarot nearly twenty years ago, helped nurture my own intuitive path.
I have all five “clairs”:
Clairvoyance – seeing images or visions
Clairaudience – hearing messages from spirit
Clairsentience – feeling energy or emotions
Claircognizance – receiving sudden “knowing” or insight
Clairalience – smelling scents tied to spirit
Along with these, I practice mediumship, the ability to connect with and communicate messages from loved ones who have crossed over. I’m also a Reiki-certified practitioner, which opened up my mediumship abilities in ways I never expected. Through Reiki, I learned how to work with energy more intentionally, helping others find balance and inviting in healing messages from spirit.
My work blends these gifts to offer guidance, connection, and spiritual healing. My hope is to use them for a higher purpose, helping others feel supported, inspired, and understood, while also having a little fun along the way!
