You may know Preston, or you may know his mom. Preston is a 2022 graduate of Sussex Central High School, and there’s a good chance your child went to school with him. Since 2019, he has proudly served as a volunteer firefighter with the Lewes Fire Company, and his dedication to helping others continues to grow — he recently earned his EMT certification, driven by a deep passion to serve people in their moments of greatest need.
In February 2025, Preston was diagnosed with recurring Hodgkin’s lymphoma and began treatment shortly after. After months of courage and perseverance, he completed care in November 2025. Sadly, in December, the cancer returned.
Despite this devastating news, Preston has chosen to fight — with strength, resilience, and the same selfless heart he has always shown our community. In the coming weeks, he will begin another intensive round of treatments, including repeated hospital stays at UPenn, extended treatment cycles, and growing medical expenses that will quickly become overwhelming.
