Let's travel back in time to 1953. Playboy publishes its first issue. Sid Caesar and his Your Show of Shows was a popular comedy and variety show from 1950 to 1954. And, the Soviet Union was the model for Communism and censorship.

Back then, television shows and comedians were facing pressure from oversight and censorship. Yes, writers, comedians, and actors are accused of being Communists. They were censored and blacklisted.

Inspired by Sid Caesar's Your Show of Shows, Laughter on the 23rd Floor gives you a glimpse of what it was like to be behind the scenes of a TV show during these turbulent times.
