This all-day equestrian event celebrates the heritage of fox hunting, designed to showcase the bravery, athleticism, and partnership of horse and rider. Competitors navigate cross-country courses that mimic real hunt field conditions, with natural jumps like stone walls, post-and-rail fences, and fallen logs.
For younger or newer riders, the small ring offers a more approachable competition, just as thrilling and unforgettable, with classic hunter-style jumps and plenty of applause.
Don’t miss the Hunter Derby, where skill meets stakes. This year’s class offers $1,200 in prize money, and the excitement is palpable as riders bring their best to the field.

If you’re more interested in food than fences, the Tailgate Competition is for you! It’s the only amateur culinary contest of its kind in Cincinnati, and it’s all about fun, flair, and a touch of friendly rivalry. Categories have included:

Some show up with one special creation; others go all out with themed spreads and matching attire. Winners earn ribbons, a silver trophy, and, of course, bragging rights. We’ve had celebrity chefs, sommeliers, and local personalities as judges, so be ready to serve up a sample or two when they stop by. (Note: Store-bought and catered entries are not eligible to compete.)
