Hailing from Mildura, Birddog is a dark wave rock band formed by Courtney McMullan and Rhys Barden. Birddog possesses a vast musical maturity, with writing and composing talents beyond their years. Their initial demo works found their way to Australian Indie Label, Dark Escapes Music, which eventually culminated into signing with the distribution and publishing group.
Birddog earnt their local following by playing live shows around the Mildura and Sunraysia scene with acts such as The Rubens, The Screaming Jets, Kingswood, Reece Mastin, and soon to be many more! Birddog incorporate drummer, Xavier Leech, into the mix in order to provide a more complete and exciting stage presence.
Birddog have released 3 singles: “Drifter”, "Alone", and their latest (Feb 22nd, 2024), "Lost My Mind", each holding their own success sonically and commercially. The band draw inspiration from alternative rock bands such as the Foo Fighters, The Killers, and The Living End. Only in their mid-teens, Birddog have launched themselves into the world of music, and aim to release more content in 2024 as they look to expand their catalogue.
Birddog has recently released their debut EP "Growing Pains" reflecting on their evolution over the last year involving personal and musical development. They are currently looking at expanding their catalogue with a hint of an album being recorded at the end of the year.
