*A trash clean up and fly fishing event at Equus Run Vineyards on the Elkhorn Creek*
Interested in learning how to fly fish in one of Kentucky’s most diverse fisheries, the Elkhorn Creek? Join Bluegrass Trout Unlimited for a day of conservation, fun, and fly fishing.
We will be meeting at Equus Run Vineyards at 11:30am on Sunday 10/12/25. Our morning will start by helping pick up trash around the Vineyard and along the banks of Elkhorn Creek. Trash pickup supplies (gloves, bags, grabbers) will be provided. At around 1pm we will take a lunch break.
*BGTU is asking that participants please pack their own lunch!*
After lunch, we fish! Already know how to fly fish? Great! Need a refresher? Great! Just starting? Great! Everyone is welcome to go at their own pace. For new anglers we will have extra fly fishing gear on hand for you to use.
We will work in small groups so that experienced anglers/group leaders can make sure everyone is fitted with gear. Leaders will also discuss the fundamentals of fly fishing with their group.
We will spend the remaining time we have fishing for smallmouth bass, rock bass, and pan fish. Anglers of all skill levels are invited to join!
