The 226ers South African Criterium Festival Comes to Steyn City
Featuring the Inaugural Gauteng Schools Cycling Criterium Championships and the 2025 South African Criterium Championships
Johannesburg, South Africa – [17 September 2025] – Steyn City will play host to a landmark weekend of cycling when the South African Criterium Cycling Festival rolls into the city on Saturday, 1 November and Sunday, 2 November 2025. This premier two-day festival of speed and endurance will showcase the very best of criterium road racing, while also breaking new ground in the development of youth cycling.
The festival will kick off on Saturday, 1 November with the inaugural Gauteng Schools Cycling Criterium Championships, an exciting addition to the South African cycling calendar. This pioneering event will see schools from across the province compete in fast-paced, tactical races designed to highlight skill, teamwork, and the rising talent of our young athletes.
On Sunday, 2 November, the stage is set for the pinnacle event – the 2025 South African Criterium Championships. Elite and amateur riders from across the country will contest for national honours on a world-class circuit within the secure and scenic environment of Steyn City. The championships promise high-octane racing, tactical battles, and thrilling finishes as South Africa’s best criterium riders vie for the national title.
