Mid-Lothian Mines Day

Experience the early coal mining history at Midlothian Mines and Railroad Park during this annual event. Discover the impact of the earliest commercially mined coal in North America that led to the first railroad in Virginia and the first hard surfaced road. Activities include guided trolley tours of the park, musical performances, coal mining and railroad exhibits, living history and children's activities. Parking and admission are free.
