Banned Books Read-In

Come join us at Midlothian Book Exchange for a Banned Books Read-In on October 7, 2025 starting at 5:30 PM! We’ve teamed up with Libro.fm and Silent Book Club to host this evening event.

We will have a silent read-in from 5:30-6:00. Find a banned book in store, bring a banned book from home, or listen to a banned audiobook. For those listening to audiobooks please bring your own device and headphones.

Afterwards, we will have a mini book club session to share about the banned books we are reading. Attendees will receive a free audiobook copy of Lula Dean’s Little Library of Banned Books from Libro.fm. To receive this audiobook you will have to have a Libro.fm account or you can create an account for free. We will have a QR code in store for you to scan to download the audiobook. You can download the Libro.fm app and create your account before you arrive or we can help you in store. You will also be able to shop in store and check out our Banned Book Week display.

We will also have a raffle that evening for a $10 gift certificate. Buy a book during the event and get one entry. Buy an audiobook from libro.fm anytime between October 1st-7th and show us your receipt to receive a second entry. Wear a Banned Book shirt,to the event, to get another entry.
