About the event

Ash Wednesday Service

FMC Midlothian invites you to begin your Lenten journey with us on Ash Wednesday. Dinner will be served from 5:30-6:15 PM. Our Ash Wednesday service will be at 6:30 PM in the Sanctuary. Childcare will be provided for children up to Pre-K. All are welcome!

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a season of reflection, prayer and preparation for Easter. Ashes are placed on the forehead in the sign of a cross as a reminder of Christ’s death, the sorrow of our sins and our need for repentance (turning away from sin and towards God). They are a symbol of our humanity and mortality. We were formed from dust and to dust we shall return. We hope you join us for this meaningful service.
