We’re throwing a weeklong party for the river—and you're invited.
Mandoon Bilya BioBlitz is back this October and it’s your chance to get hands-on with nature, culture, and community, right along the banks of the Helena River. This free event is all about rediscovering the wild heart of the Perth Hills, spotlighting the incredible plants, creatures, and stories of Mandoon Bilya.
Here’s what’s happening:
BioBlitz Week | 13–19 October
Daily activities at river parks up and down the lower Helena River. Join ecologists, Noongar cultural guides, citizen scientists, and nature lovers as we explore, identify, and record everything from fungi to frogs. All you need is your curiosity (and the iNaturalist app).
River Festival | Saturday 18 October | Mundaring Sculpture Park
This is the big one. Live music, cultural performances, guest speakers, art, nature walks, giveaways, food trucks, and good vibes. Perfect for families, nature nerds, and anyone who loves their patch of bushland.
