Join us at EveryBODY Fitness for a powerful and important community training led by Barb Smith, President and Founder of the Barb Smith Suicide Resource & Response Network.
Barb will share insight from her decades of work in suicide prevention and postvention—including research, case studies, and her lived experience. With both national and local expertise, she helps people feel confident and prepared to talk about suicide and mental health in a compassionate, lifesaving way.
This training is free, open to the community, and designed for anyone who wants to better understand how to recognize warning signs, have difficult conversations, and connect others to support.
Attendees will learn how to:
• Recognize when someone may be at risk for suicide
• Ask the question of suicide in a safe and supportive way
• Connect individuals to resources that can decrease their pain
• Understand both local and national resources available
If attendees would like to sit during the training, they are welcome to bring a lawn chair for additional comfort. We will have stability balls, mats, and some chairs available in the studio, but anyone who prefers their own seating is more than welcome to bring it along.
This training is made possible thanks to a generous grant from the Midland 100 Club.
