Participants experience the benefits of art journaling for self-care, personal reflection, and creative expression.
For beginning art journalists and more experienced ones, this workshop demonstrates various mixed media techniques, offers time for guided practice, and provides opportunities to respond to creative prompts, ultimately culminating into a handful of expressive pages, or spreads, in a keepsake journal to take home. Materials participants need to bring: Magazines (for collage pictures), Photos (of you or someone you love), Favorite Quotes or words, Materials of different textures (packing bubbles, coffee sleeves, etc.), Scrapbook material, printed materials you want to use in the art journal (old book pages, dictionaries, black-and-white photos, children’s books, newspapers, foreign language materials, cards, postcards, etc.)
