Join us in celebrating our community's best tabletop creativity at Armies on Parade! 🏆
What is Armies on Parade? It showcases your best-painted miniatures on a thematic diorama or display board. This contest is open to any grouping of 28-32mm scaled miniatures, including but not limited to Warhammer armies, Malifaux crews, D&D raiding parties, historical regiments, and Star Wars Legion. You can use pre-painted models from your collection or paint new ones specifically for this event. Your display must include at least 10 models. If your display board features larger models (like Warhammer Knights, historical tanks, or dragons), each larger model counts as two smaller ones.
The entry fee contributes to the prize pool via EHH Player Points, adding 9,500 Player Points for each entry. EHH Player Points can be combined with points from other competitive events and redeemed for items from our prize wall or converted to store credit.
Final judging will occur in person by a panel of judges and community members during the showcase event. We encourage everyone to attend and support fellow creatives! Individuals may vote for multiple entries but only once per entry. Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in two categories: Community Votes and Judge Panel. Community Votes will be tallied from attendees, while the Judge Panel will use a specific rubric (to be announced). Participants can also vote during the Gala.
Important dates
September 1: Registration opens. You may start your diorama/display board before registration, provided it follows the guidelines below.
September 22: Registration closes.
September 27: Drop off dioramas/display boards and models between 3:00-7:00 PM to be eligible for judging and prizes.
September 28: Armies on Parade Gala begins at 2:00 PM and ends at 5:00 PM. Wear your fancy clothes, enjoy complimentary snacks and refreshments, and support our talented community! Take your diorama/display boards home before closing.
Entry rules
Each diorama must contain at least 10 models (individuals, vehicles, monsters, or any combination) in 28mm scale. If using large models (like Warhammer Knights, historical tanks, or dragons), each larger model counts as two smaller ones. If using only large models, the minimum model count is 5.
Dioramas that have previously entered an EHH event may not be reused. Those entered in other competitions can be submitted to Armies on Parade.
The finished diorama must measure no smaller than 10x10 inches and no larger than 18x24 inches. There is no maximum height restriction, so feel free to build vertically! (However, if someone submits a 3-foot-tall diorama, we may revise this rule for next year.)
The final diorama can be made from any materials: foraged, scratch-built, purchased, or 3D-printed. We encourage recycling or upcycling items from your home!
