About this Event

Join Chef Andrea in the Lotuswood kitchen and learn exactly how to make khichari, Ayurveda’s famous healing dish.

Despite its Indian origins, khichari (pronounced kitch-er-ee), lends itself to infinite customizations, such as Italian khichari, Mexican khichari, breakfast khichari, meat-based khichari, fat-free khichari, khichari for diabetics, etc.

A classic khichari is made from rice, lentils, ghee and spices cooked in a highly digestible form. High in fiber, low in fat, gluten-free, and a complete protein, khichari lends itself to endless variations of vegetables, meat, grains, legumes, spices, and fat (or even non-fat).

Learn the 6-taste formula that ensures no matter how you customize it, it always works and is nourishing and satisfying.

Ayurveda is the traditional system of healthcare from India, and Andrea is an Ayurvedic nutritionist and digestive health counsellor. Many of her students and clients have expressed that learning to make this dish has been “life-changing.”
