Join us for a cozy, hands-on sourdough workshop where you’ll learn how to bake beautiful, naturally leavened bread from scratch in a relaxed and welcoming environment. ** BRING YOUR FAVORITE MIXING BOWL!! ** This class is designed for beginners and curious bakers who want to ditch store-bought bread and learn the traditional art of sourdough.
During our time together, we will walk step-by-step through the entire sourdough process so you leave feeling confident to bake at home.
What we’ll do during class:
We’ll start by learning what sourdough actually is and why it has been used for thousands of years. You’ll learn how to feed, maintain, and care for a sourdough starter so you can keep it alive for years to come.
Then we’ll move into the full bread-making process. You’ll learn how to mix dough by hand, understand fermentation, practice stretch and folds, and learn how to shape a loaf. We’ll also talk through proofing, scoring, and baking so you fully understand every step from start to finish.
By the end of the workshop, you will take home your own sourdough starter plus a dough you mixed yourself that will be ready to bake the next day.
