The Lakehills United Methodist church, Jac Pack team is hosting their annual suicide prevention walk, this year to benefit StopSoldierSuicide.org.
Soldiers are nearly nine times more likely to die by suicide than they are in combat. According to the Veterans Administration, in 2022, 582 Texas Vets died by suicide. Help us help our soldiers cope!
The physical registration begins at 7AM, on Saturday, September 13 at 150 Avenue J, in Lakehills. The approximately 2-mile walk begins at 8AM from the church parking lot and the route is a loop.
This year all participants will receive a swag bag of goodies, the first 20 participants will receive a free t-shirt and medals will be awarded!
After participants have returned from the walk, they are welcome to join us in the church Mission Hall for snacks and drinks. We have guest speaker, Mike Oates, from Together With Hill Country Veterans at 9AM.
