White Lake Chamber Music Festival Announces New Dates
The White Lake Chamber Music Festival continues to impact the White Lake area and beyond, entering the 16th season of presenting an impressive array of exceptional performances! Moving from the month of August, the Festival’s new dates will now run July 18-26, 2025 with inspiring big city classical music performances continuing to take place in the beautiful and charming White Lake area!
The Festival’s new Artistic Director, Marina Hoover, is taking the Festival to new heights with exciting programming, presenting three beloved giants of the history of western music: Bach, Beethoven and Brahms, plus a handful of composers that have a direct connection to these three and some that are simply gems that should be shared with Festival listeners.
Evening concerts will feature Beethoven’s Piano Trio Op. 1 No 1 and Quartet Op. 18. No.4, Brahms Horn Trio Op. 40, Bach Double Violin Concerto, Schumann and Brahms Piano Quintets, Mendelssohn Quartet op. 13, Brahms songs and more. Each evening will have a delicate yet robust variety, showcasing beloved audience favorites.
Besides changing the overall dates from August to mid-July, the 4PM Salon Concerts have now been changed to 11AM at the Book Nook & Java Shop. These return with an exciting variety: classical guitar, marimba, duo pianists, viola-piano duo, and a violin duo. The musicians are granted the leeway to create programs suitable for morning coffee, pastries, and a great way to start the day!
On Friday, July 25, there will be a special performance by the Windpaintner Quintet at an audience favorite location – the White Lake Golf Club Pavilion! They will perform popular selections and arrangements from opera, musicals and more, continuing the Festival’s relationship of song in chamber music.
On Sunday, July 20 at 3 pm, in a special partnership with the Playhouse at White Lake, there will be a magical afternoon of storytelling, as captivating performer Anne Marie Hoover joins forces with international pianists Andrea Swan and Kuang-Hao Huang. The musicians will share the classic tales of Peter and the Wolf, set to Prokofiev's music, and the magical adventure of The Sorcerer's Apprentice (music by Dukas), enhanced by evocative background illustrations. Children and adults alike will be whisked away to another time, where magic reigns supreme.
This year’s nine-day festival is packed with many exciting offerings: 11AM Salon Concerts at the Book Nook & Java Shop, a children’s concert at the Playhouse at White Lake, meet and greets, an outdoor pavilion performance, and exciting evening performances. There will once again be the world’s greatest music wonderfully played, combined with the soft summer weather, beaches, and spectacular sunsets. All of this makes the White Lake Chamber Music Festival a vacation destination for an ever-growing audience from near and far.
