Join The Flock for a Walk at Bolen Bluff Trail, Paynes Prairie
📍 Meeting Point: Bolen Bluff Trailhead parking lot
⏱ Duration: 2 hours
🌿 Trail Conditions: Easy, mostly flat, can be sandy or muddy depending on recent rain
📏 Distance: About 3 miles round trip
What to Expect:
We’ll enjoy a morning walk through Bolen Bluff, beginning on a shady forest trail that eventually opens onto the sweeping prairie. This trail is one of the best spots in the area for peak fall migration, so we’ll be on the lookout for a wide variety of warblers, woodpeckers, and raptors overhead.
In addition to birds, Bolen Bluff is also known for its larger wildlife; horses, bison, and deer are often seen grazing in the prairie. The walk is medium difficulty due to slight elevations, the distance and lack of shade on the prairie portion of the trail.
👉 After the walk, those who are interested are welcome to join us for lunch nearby!
What to Bring:
• Bug spray
• Hiking boots or sneakers (mud possible)
• Binoculars
Join us for one of Paynes Prairie’s most scenic birding spots at the height of fall migration!
About The Flock:
