World Thinking Day is celebrated by Girl Scouts every year in February. Cost for the event is $5 per scout (please have appropriate numbers of volunteers with the group)
Troops are also asked to register in advance for making a display. Please let Ms Holloway know your country and what activity you are planning with your display.
What Is World Thinking Day?
World Thinking Day is celebrated each year on February 22 by Girl Scouts and Girl Guides around the world. It’s a day when girls learn about and “think of” other Girl Scouts in more than 150 countries, celebrating our shared values while learning about different cultures and global issues.
The date honors the birthday of Lord and Lady Baden-Powell, the founders of the Scouting movement.
On World Thinking Day, girls often:
• Learn about other countries and cultures
• Explore global challenges and how girls can make a difference
• Participate in hands-on activities, games, crafts, or foods from around the world
• Earn the World Thinking Day badge
The goal is to help girls build friendship, understanding, and empathy, and to see themselves as part of a worldwide community working to make the world a better place.
