Ramblers Walk: the lesser known Tyne Derwent Way

Join Kath, a trained walk leader with the Ramblers on a A Tyne Derwent Way wellbeing walk from the Metrocentre to the Derwent and back from 11am - 12pm.

Did you know that the TDW trail runs right in front of Gateshead Metrocentre? This short, 2 mile walk takes us to the confluence of the rivers Derwent and Tyne, with some fun facts and local history thrown in for good measure. Shopping or working in the Metrocentre? Why not take an hour out to get some fresh air. Easy access by bus, rail and car.

Meet outside the Angel statue, in the Blue Mall, next to Pizza Hut (picture below) - the walk will end here, too. What three words is ///mild.rate.outfit

Suitable for all, although we’d recommend you’re comfortable walking up to 2 miles/ being on your feet for up to an hour - or travelling the equivalent distance and time in your wheelchair.

We know that sometimes plans change and understand that you may not be able to attend any more. If that is the case, please let us know by cancelling your ticket on Eventbrite. Kath is a volunteer so her time is precious, as are the limited places on her walks. Thank you.
