The traditional Yoga Practice has so much more than just movement...
The Yogis have known for centuries that optimum health and happiness is reliant on several things - with movement (asana) being just one of the 8 limbs of Yoga.
The other limbs of Yoga are enjoyable, interesting and very different to what you would experience in class - practices which have the potential to be truly life changing when adapted to daily life.
Join me to dive deep into the essence of Yoga! The day will include
- Yoga Asana (the postures you would usually see in classes), and the alignment
- Pranayama: Traditional breathing practices. You may have done some of these for a short time, here we have more time to really feel the deeply relaxing effects of a variety of practices, and practice some more unusual ones!
- Mantra: Sound (Ill explain more on the day)
- Pratyahara: Withdrawal of the senses
- The Yamas and Niyamas - this will involve an interactive discussion on the traditional Yogic philosophies on life
- Dharana: Practices to induce concentration
Yoga Nidra: Guided by Sal - a long, deep meditation to leave you deeply relaxed and satisfied
Although we will be Yoga focused for a full day - it won't be intense movement all day - yes we will do some asana but we will also enjoy exploring the other limbs of Yoga.
No previous experience necessary, all practices able to be enjoyed by all levels including complete beginner.
