Three local authors will discuss their newest work in a panel discussion at 7 p.m., Monday, September 22, at the East Bank Regional Library (4747 West Napoleon Avenue in Metairie).

Dawn Jackson-Duvernay, author of 'Mom, Share Your Memories with Me'
Jackson-Duvernay says that “Every mother carries a lifetime of wisdom, stories, and cherished moments.” Mom Share Your Memories with Me is a guided journal designed to help mothers reflect, express, and preserve their journeys through life. It contains thought provoking questions, soulful poetry, and personal reflection prompts, and it invites mothers to share their memories, greatest lessons, and the love that shaped their journey.
Dawn Jackson-Duvernay is a minister, author, certified life coach, licensed life insurance producer, and entrepreneur. She currently serves as an administrator at Parishes Supportive Living.
Velma Albert, author of 'Grief, Girl to Woman, and A Better You!'
Albert’s books are journals to self-care in coloring books form that she dedicated to areas in her personal life that she have done the work and overcome certain situations and learned lessons along the way and want to help others also.
Velma Albert, known as "Queen Ve,” is an author, speaker, and business owner, as well as a life coach with a Master's in Theology. She operates her company, Queen Ve’ Coaching & Consulting. In addition to her current work, Albert is preparing to launch a Christian counseling business in the near future.
Michall Willis, author of 'Hidden Thoughts: Not Just a Preachers Kid'
This book of raw, emotional poems contains the thoughts of a young girl raised in Christian ministry and the many battles she faced with self-worth and identity. These verses are the uncensored thoughts of a young girl coming into adulthood. She grapples with the lifestyle she has been taught to live. Struggling with self-worth and identity, she writes of the many obstacles she encounters through the choices she's made. She confronts the most important choice of her life. Is this really the life she wants to live?
Willis is 25 years old and was raised in church. Both of her parents are pastors. Christianity has been her life as long as she can remember, but it wasn't always how she chose to live.
