Experience traditional domestic life around the hearth and home, and learn the timeless art of food production. Discover the vital roles women played in farming, gardening, and agriculture, and explore how families managed goats and sheep, with fresh born lambs and kids on our farmstead!
Try to imagine yourself living through the birth of our nation. Could you start a fire with flint and steel? Spin fibers into thread? What would your role in life be, and where would your loyalties lie as the nation continues towards independence?
Revolutionary Homestead highlights how everyday lives were affected during one of the most formative periods in our history. Experience life as a frontier family in 1776 through engaging living history demonstrations and presentations. Winter programs focus on hearth cooking, sewing, leatherwork, and indoor crafts, as well as the March birthing season for our heritage sheep and goats.
