The Melton RSL Subbranch invites all members of the community to attend our annual Remembrance Day Service on Tuesday, 11 November 2025, at the Melton Cenotaph.
Each year, on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, we pause in solemn reflection to honour the men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. This national observance marks the signing of the Armistice that ended the First World War and commemorates all Australian service personnel who have died in wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations.
Event Details:
Date: Tuesday, 11 November 2025
Time: 10:20 AM (Service Begins)
Location: Melton Cenotaph – Corner of High Street and Smith Street, Melton
The service will commence promptly and will include the traditional observance of one minute’s silence, wreath laying, readings, and the sounding of the Last Post. Members of the veteran community and local organisations will participate in the formal proceedings.
Professional attire is requested. Men are encouraged to wear a suit and tie if able, with equivalent formal wear for women.
Veterans are encouraged to wear their full-sized medals on the left breast. Relatives of veterans are welcome to wear their family member’s medals on the right breast, in accordance with official protocol, to signify that the medals are not their own.
Members of the public are encouraged to wear a red poppy in remembrance.
We encourage the Melton community to stand with us in honouring the memory of those who served and sacrificed. Your presence is a meaningful tribute and a valued gesture of support to our veteran community.
