Ancient Rome, Afghanistan, Narnia: unconventional approaches

Author and archaeologist Warwick Ball discusses several books he has written in the past ten years: Rome in the East: The Transformation of an Empire; The Eurasian Steppe: People Movement, Ideas; East of the Wardrobe, the Unexpected Worlds of C S Lewis and his latest book, Ancient Civilization of Afghanistan.
On the surface all four could hardly be more different but all are linked by a common approach: they examine well-known subjects such as European civilisation or Narnia from a different standpoint away from the conventional view. This approach has led to some startlingly different conclusions that challenge the more orthodox approaches.
