Swimmable Waters Training

Join us at the MWA office to learn the basics of Swimmable Water Sampling!

If you would like to volunteer for the Swimmable Waters Program from May-September and you have never volunteered before (or need a refresher) come join us for a volunteer training day to learn the ropes! We will go over why the program exists, how to take a water sample, sterile technique, the sampling routes, and more!

Swimmable waters sampling takes place only on Wednesdays during the day from May- September and the latest drop-off time is 3:00pm. Swimmable Waters volunteers are asked to drive their own car to retrieves these samples and courier them to the Lab based in Melcroft, PA.

Gear and supplies are provided and volunteer time can be used to gain MWA membership, count for non-MWA related volunteer hours, and enters you for a chance to win a prize at the end of the Swimmable Waters Season.
