Join Melbourne jazz vocalist Sophie Nickson and her Quintet as she presents her Paris Cat debut ‘Swingin’ With: The Sophie Sessions’.
Australian vocalist, Sophie Nickson is a Melbourne based musician, composer and bandleader. With her unique flair of exploring the depth of human emotions, Sophie’s ability to connect people is effortless, through tasteful melodies and insightful storytelling. Currently studying at the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music, Sophie has recorded and performed with the likes of Kristin Berardi, Michelle Nicolle, Grant Windsor and Coco’s Lunch, and has completed her studies under the guidance of Louisa Rankin, Emma Gilmartin and Amelia Evans.
Drawing on repertoire performed by greats such as Ella Fitzgerald, Art Blakey, Vince Jones, and more, this show promises to celebrate the tunes you know and love. Join Sophie as she presents a swingin’ show honouring familiar favourites from both the Great American and Australian songbooks.
