Discover your unique watercolour style this festive season!
In this relaxed and creative 2-hour workshop, we’ll explore different ways to paint Christmas trees — from loose and whimsical to detailed and expressive.

You’ll experiment with brush techniques, mark-making, colour palettes, and composition to find the style that feels authentic to you.

Held on 16 December at 10 am at Melbourne Central Skybridge, this small-group session (limited to 7 participants) offers personalised guidance in a friendly, encouraging atmosphere.

All materials are provided, but you’re welcome to bring your favourite brushes, paints or tools if you’d like to use them.

Perfect for beginners and all levels, this workshop is a fun way to create handmade cards, gifts, or simply reconnect with your creativity before the holidays.

• Quick mark-making practice using provided materials

25 mins — Demo: Five Ways to Paint Christmas Trees
• Loose + wet-on-wet
• Graphic wet-on-dry
• Textured layering + dry brush
• Line-and-wash trees
• Abstract and modern shapes

60 mins — Guided Creative Time
• Explore 2–3 styles of your choice
• Experiment with festive colour palettes
• Optional: create a card or small composition
• One-on-one guidance in a cosy small group (7 participants)

15 mins — Wrap-Up
• Group share
• Tips for developing your signature style
• Receive digital handout + 30-day prompts

• How to explore and identify your personal watercolour style
• Brush control for soft, expressive, sharp, and textured trees
• How to simplify a subject into different interpretations
• Colour mixing for festive, pastel, earthy, and modern palettes
• Techniques: wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, glazing, dry brush, splatter
• How to design simple holiday cards or mini compositions

Do I need experience?
No experience needed — this workshop welcomes beginners and all levels.

What should I bring?
All art materials are provided. You’re welcome to bring your own brushes, paints, or favourite tools if preferred.

Melbourne Central Skybridge. Directions will be emailed 2 days before the event.

Is this kid-friendly?
Suitable for ages 10+ with a participating adult.

Can I take home my artwork?
Absolutely — you’ll take home your practice sheets and finished trees.
