Book club: Terry Pratchett's Hogfather (1997)

Terry Pratchett, the Shakespeare of late twentieth century, post-Tolkien, fantasy satire... That's this club's justification for doing him.

Terry Pratchett's Discworld series is known for skewering every aspect of modern culture -- and Father Christmas is no exception. In this comedy tale, the Guild of Assassin's is hired to assassinate the Discworld's Santa, the Hogfather. Who can stand in the way of the assassin Mr Teatime (pronounced Teh-Ah-Tah-Meh)? The Grim Reaper's granddaughter, and perhaps the Grim Reaper himself.
