3CR's legendary Hot Damn Tamale show host Werner Martin will interview Andy, stepping us through his journey, complemented by visuals of photos, artwork, posters and memorabilia. There will be a Q & A for you with Andy.

Andy’s been a driving force behind legendary acts like the Honeydrippers, Autodrifters, Dancehall Racketeers, Cajun Combo and Banana Oil. He has 18 solo albums alone, playing a half-dozen stringed instruments, singing, songwriting and illustrating with his own artwork.
Funky soul, R&B, western swing, jazz, Cajun, blues, hillbilly, country, country rock – name a roots music and Andy’s been there at the forefront.
Early on, during an extended working holiday in the US, Andy met and played with musical legends like David Grisman, Texan accordionist Flaco Jiménez, Cajun great Dewey Balfa and Bob Wills fiddler Johnny Gimble.
Back home in the '90s Baylor was in constant demand running the Cajun Combo, freelancing and playing with internationals like organist Jimmy McGriff and sax great Big Jay McNeely. With the Cajun Combo he backed Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Louisiana Red and Jimmy Witherspoon. He toured with Flaco, played fiddle with Slim Dusty and was chosen personally by Bob Dylan as support act for his 1992 tour.
When I spoke to Andy in 1999 for Rhythms magazine, it was nothing for him to do 8 to 10 gigs in a week: ‘I can do anything from a New Orleans jazz band to a Cajun-style wedding, rhythm and blues in a little pub in town, Celtic fiddle tunes in an Irish session, modern jazz with someone like Ken Schroeder at Bennetts Lane, and sitting around a campfire somewhere up in the bush playing hillbilly music.’
He’d recently been flown to Sydney for a Saturday-night gig and back to Melbourne Sunday morning to play 3 more that day. A bout with cancer caused Andy to rethink the hard-and-fast life of a musician, and most recently he’s been isolated in New South Wales.
