Capability Level: Emerging and Evolving

Why do some children show better than expected outcomes despite significant adversity? The concept of resilience is well known yet often misunderstood and misapplied. In this webinar we look at what the research says about resilience and how it can be practically applied to program design.

We’ll explore how CatholicCare Wollongong used over 10 years of school counselling service data and a resilience framework to develop the Keeping Kids Connected Program—an intensive early intervention initiative supporting the well-being of students from Kindergarten to Year 6.

Participants will go away from this training with the steps needed to apply these learnings to their own programs as well as having a resilience focused lens to look at any persistent challenges impacting their communities.

Who should attend?

This training is ideal for social workers and allied health professionals who work with children and young people. It is particularly relevant for those working in schools or school systems however the learning outcomes are not limited to these service settings. Whether you are an emerging practitioner looking to strengthen your foundational knowledge or an experienced professional seeking to deepen your understanding of resilience-building frameworks, this session will provide practical tools and evidence-informed approaches to enhance your practice.
