The Nutwood Toy Run 2025🧸🎄🎅🏼
The Toy Run began in 2023 with just 50 teddy bears and a simple idea — to bring a little extra joy to children spending time in hospital over Christmas.
That first year, a small group of bikers came together to deliver the toys, and the event has grown ever since.
By 2024, more biker groups and Land Rover enthusiasts joined the run.
Working together with Tesco Extra in Royston and the wider community, an incredible 23 crates of toys and books were collected.
Local businesses also contributed, helping us provide a wide range of gifts for children of all ages.
Support from Herts Rural Police ensured the convoy reached the hospital safely.
The toys and books delivered are not just for Christmas morning, they help Lister Hospital maintain a supply of gifts for children recovering from operations, receiving treatment throughout the year, or spending time away from home during the Christmas season.
These items offer comfort, distraction, and moments of happiness during difficult times.
This year, the Toy Run will be even bigger, with more support than ever. To help make that happen, we are asking for brand-new toy or book donations suitable for children up to 18 years old.
Donation points are available at:
- Royston Tesco Extra (Toy Run donation trolley)
- The Woodman Inn, Nuthampstead
- The Pheasant, Great Chishill
- The Duncombe Arms, Waresley
If you are unable to reach a donation point, please take a look at our Amazon Wish List

If enough donations are received, we will also share the donations with other charitable causes within the local area.
If you would like to be involved or would like to watch the convoy, our route will take us through Barkway, Reed, Therfield, down Therfield road in front of Royston McDonald’s, along the A505.
