The Big Sit

The Birding Club of Delaware County (BCDC) welcomes everyone to the BIG SIT at Rose Tree Park, counting birds for conservation. We'll be "sitting" (often standing) near the gazebo, all day from dawn to dusk, tallying birds we can see or hear from this spot. BCDC has hosted a Big Sit at Rose Tree nearly every year since 2006, averaging 50 species on the second weekend in October. Highlights include early-morning thrushes and owls, Yellow-rumped and Palm Warblers, Red-tailed and Red-shouldered Hawks, Bald Eagles, Osprey, vultures, Peregrine Falcon, and more!

Join us for a few minutes, hours, or all day! Bring a lawn chair and binoculars, enjoy some snacks, and help add to our tally board of species seen on a fall weekend at Rose Tree Park.
