October is one of the very best months to get outside and explore the vast variety of edible mushrooms including chicken of the woods, maitake/hen of the woods, oysters, beefsteaks, Lion’s Mane and delicious fall fruits like crab apples, persimmons, and more!
We will review how to properly identify mushrooms and wild edibles, discuss sustainable harvesting and local laws and collect specimens to study. Learn 15-20 mushroom species that are available now, as well as a variety of non-edible/poisonous fungi, plants and herbs and perhaps even take some home with you to enjoy!
