Our featured expert, Charlotte Taylor Fryar, Ph.D., is a local historian, educator, herbalist, and author of the recently-published collection of essays, Potomac Fever: Reflections on the Nation's River. Join Charlotte and ICPRB staff for a fascinating history and nature walk at Turkey Run Park. We'll look for pawpaws, persimmons, acorns, and other wild nuts. Come learn more about the history and ecology of the Potomac Gorge!
Expect to walk about 1.5 miles on terrain that can be steep and rocky. We suggest bringing your own water bottle, a snack, and dressing for the weather.
This event is FREE of cost, but please register in case of delays or rescheduling due to inclement weather. If you find you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration to free space for other attendees!
