No doubt the Faulkner’s daughters — Margie, Daisy, Thula and Virginia — grew up enjoying Lewis Carrol’s 1866 madcap fairy tale, “Alice in Wonderland”. In their honor, we’re joining downtown McMinnville’s “Alice in Winterland” promotion, making our formal Victorian tea even more fun.
Get your picture made with your host, the Mad Hatter. In spite of his protest to Alice that there was “no room,”, there will be “room” for you and your friends at 11 am and 1 pm every Saturday in February. If you like, wear your funniest hat or other garb from the book.
Menu: Scones with cream and jam, assorted tea sandwiches, a selection of sweets, fruit, hot tea of your choice, our famous pink lemonade or iced tea. Served on tiered trays or plated. Call before booking if you have health-related dietary restrictions.
Children are welcome. For even more fun, schedule a guided tour of Falcon Rest Mansion after your tea.
**PLEASE NOTE:** The tea room is located in our Visitor Center, not in the mansion. The mansion and gardens are not visible from the road. They are entirely hidden in the 1890s inside our tall holly hedge. Enter at the Visitor Center just past the hedge at 85 Bluff Springs Road. Access to the gardens is is not included, unless you also purchase a guided mansion tour.
