Presenter: Joeleyn Trahan
Description: Joeleyn has loved flowers her whole life—not just admiring them, but building a true relationship with them. While many in our group focus on learning how to process herbs, her passion is in growing them and listening to what they have to share.
For this event which is located just 15 minutes north of Lawrence, she’s created a playful scavenger hunt to encourage us to spend time with the plants. As visitors touch, smell, and search for visual details, they may discover that another herb is “calling” to them—an invitation to connect and get to know it more deeply.
Joeleyn hopes at least 12 members will join in, as the hunt will be most fun in pairs—so bring a friend! Each team will receive a basket, small scissors, and a list of herbs to find, such as calendula, motherwort, elecampane, and elderberry.
Her gardens aren’t planted in rows, but in a curious design that makes for a delightful stroll through the yard. To make it even more enticing, participants can look forward to prizes, as well as flower essence cookies and tea.
