In February 2023, Town & Country Engineering completed a Public Facilities Needs Assessment for the Village’s water utility. The assessment found that the Village’s existing wells were nearing their combined, maximum pumping capacity. To make sure the water utility can keep up with increases in demand, a proposal to construct a new well with a greater pumping capacity—referred to as proposed Well No. 5—will be taken up for consideration by the Public Works & Utilities Committee and Village Board in the coming months. Alongside the proposed project, the committee and board will also consider a proposed water rate case, which would seek to establish new water rates sufficient to fund the well’s construction.
It’s important to us that all members of our community who want to be involved with this discussion have the opportunity to learn about the proposals, ask questions, and provide input. In addition to several public meetings at which these proposals will be discussed by the committee and board, the Village will hold a public information meeting for community members on Wednesday, September 3 at 6 p.m. This meeting will include an informational presentation and Q&A session with representatives from Town & Country Engineering, Baker Tilly, and the Village.
Community members are invited and encouraged to attend, either in-person at the McFarland Municipal Center, or virtually via Zoom using the link provided below. The meeting will also be recorded and made available for later viewing.
