Award-winning, powerhouse vocalist and performer Debo Ray has played on some of the world’s biggest stages. Her versatility and vocal talent ranges from r&b and funk to rock, jazz,, world beat and opera. As Boston Globe music critic John Garelick wrote, “What can’t Debo Ray sing”?
Debo brings her world-class band back to the Distillery for a night of contemporary r&b with elements of rock, hip hop, jazz and funk. They will perform music from Debo's much acclaimed debut album as well as cuts from her soon-to-be-released follow up EP Echoes and Embers. You'll also get treated to some covers of classic tunes from the likes of Chaka Khan, Tina Turner, Toto, Aretha and others.
Debo's all star band includes Tom Appleman on bass, Scott Tarulli on guitar, Mike Casano on drums and Alex Olsen on keyboards and, as a special for this show, her band will also feature three background singers all of whom are headliners in their own right; Loren Benn, Jessica Curran and Lydia (Lovely Singer) Harrell. Being able to enjoy this much talent So much talent at an intimate venue like the Distillery will make this an event to remember.
