This summer, we're excited to enhance our in between seasons event program by shifting from three evening meetings to a series of planned activities centered around various photographic themes and experiences.
Current members and prospective new members are welcome to join these events, providing a fantastic opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals. It's an excellent informal way for new members to get acquainted with the Dunchurch Photographic Society, share experiences from the events, and pick up photography tips.
Bring your camera, drone, or phone as appropriate, and join us at the designated time and venue to kick off the activities.
A day at the National Tramway Museum in Crich offers a unique and enjoyable experience for all ages. Here's what you can expect:
Ride Vintage Trams
One of the highlights is the opportunity to ride on beautifully restored vintage trams. These trams transport you along a recreated period street and out into the picturesque Derbyshire countryside, offering stunning views of the Derwent Valley.
Explore the Period Village
The museum features a recreated period village complete with historic buildings, a pub, and shops. Walking through this village feels like stepping back in time. You can visit the Red Lion pub for refreshments and explore the various shops and exhibits.
Indoor Exhibitions
The museum houses extensive indoor exhibitions that take you through the history of trams, from horse-drawn to electric trams. You'll also find fascinating displays on the inventions of Michael Holroyd Smith and other pioneers of tramway technology.
Woodland Walk and Sculpture Trail
Stretch your legs on the woodland walk and sculpture trail. This scenic path offers a peaceful retreat and features various sculptures along the way.
Accessibility
The museum is committed to accessibility, with facilities for disabled visitors, including accessible paths and tram rides. Dogs on leads are also welcome, except in certain indoor areas.

The museum is open from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with last admissions at 4:00 PM.
