About the event

Drumming Circle Rhythm & Roots
Shamanic Drumming • Cacao • Grounding & Connection

We are excited to launch our Drumming Circle Rhythm & Roots a new monthly community gathering rooted in rhythm, presence, and connection.

This circle has been created as a trauma-informed, inclusive space where the drum is not about performance, but about grounding, release, and shared human rhythm. A place to shake off the day, come back into the body, and experience the power of being together in sound and silence.

No drumming experience is needed, and you do not need to bring a drum as there will be plenty of drums available to use on the night. You are also welcome to bring your own if you have one.

The hall will be held as intentional space, with a central altar and an electric candle “campfire”, creating a warm, grounded atmosphere a modern hearth where we gather in circle. The structure of the evening is clear yet gentle, supporting safety, ease, and nervous-system settling.

A Special Launch Opening

As this is the launch of Rhythm & Roots, we are honoured to welcome Annetta Pennington as a special guest to open our first Drumming Circle.

Annetta will guide a gentle drum blessing and dedication, supporting those who have purchased or brought new drums and anyone who feels called to consciously connect with their drum. This may include blessing the drum, setting intention, acknowledging care and responsibility, and, if it arises naturally, allowing a name to come.

This opening marks the birth of our Drumming Circle, setting tone, intention, and respect for the drum and the journey ahead. Participation is optional and are welcome to witness quietly if that feels right.

The Flow of the Evening

- The circle unfolds over two hours, allowing space for rhythm, reflection, and rest
- Arrival, settling, and a shared breath with the drum
- Opening drum blessing & dedication with special guest Annetta
- Welcoming in the elements
- Shamanic drumming journey, led and held by Emma Harrison Clay, allowing rhythm to build naturally and meet the group where they are
- Talking stick circle: what the space is about, confidentiality (what is shared in the room stays in the room), introductions and how each person is arriving

As this is the launch circle, we will explore one element, with future circles moving through the elements across the months

- Shared songs, spoken words, or poems
- Short comfort break
- Cacao optional, grounding, and heart-opening
- A short grounding and settling pause, held by Samantha, offering space to breathe, notice, and integrate (this is not a formal meditation just a moment to land)
- Closing talking stick: one word to reflect how you feel now
- Thanking and closing down the elements

Who This Circle Is For

This space is open to all adults and held in a trauma-informed way. Participation is always invitational. You are welcome to drum, rest, listen, or step back as needed. Your pace, your body, and your boundaries are respected.
