The Bleu Barn uses the Horse Sense Learning levels, a skill-based curriculum that advances riders through progressive levels based on proficiency.
Many of our riding-based activities fulfill the requirements for each level (i.e. post on the correct diagonal or emergency dismount from the trot) but there are horse-care items that cannot be addressed in a mounted lesson like taking TPR (Temperature, Pulse, Respiration) or learning how to lunge a horse.
At The Bleu Barn, we believe great riders are also knowledgeable horse caretakers. Safety, health, and horsemanship skills learned off the horse are essential for building confident, capable equestrians. These skills are a required part of our program because they keep riders safe, deepen their understanding, and prepare them to advance successfully through the Horse Sense Learning Levels.
