Lacy Beginnings: Knit a Swatch-to-Pouch with Heather Swan

Step into lace knitting with Yarn Queen as your guide! In this hands-on class, you’ll learn the basics of reading lace charts, working yarn overs, and mastering decreases. Your swatch will showcase lace two ways—one side in stockinette lace and the other in garter lace—so you can see how stitch backgrounds transform the look of lacework. After blocking, your swatch folds neatly into a charming pouch, perfect for holding notions, treasures, or gifting.

This class is the perfect balance of skill-building and project-making: you’ll leave with new lace-knitting confidence, a finished pouch, and inspiration for bigger lace projects.

Skill Level: Adventurous beginner—must know how to knit, purl, and cast on.

Materials Included/Needed: Cascade 220 yarn provided (or bring your own), knitting needles size US 7–8, tapestry needle.
