A few years ago, Grainbakers founder Caitlin set out to reimagine her family’s historic Irish soda bread — adding fresh brewer’s barley for a heartier texture and richer flavor, then finishing it with a sweet Irish cream drizzle.
In class, you’ll learn her favorite tips for a perfect soda (or a traditional “spotted dog”), mix your own dough, and choose your add-ins — fresh California raisins or classic currants. You’ll shape your bread, prep it for baking, and take home your oven-ready creation plus your own container of Irish cream frosting to finish after it bakes.
A bit of history, a tad bit of malarkey, a load of shenanigans, proper pints, and very good craic — with Flogging Molly and Irish punk in the background. Feel free to wear your green or your Aran sweater — this one’s meant to be full of laughter, flour, and Irish spirit.
