FUNKD BIG BAND

Get ready for a big night as 𝐅𝐔𝐍𝐊𝐃 takes over the stage for its first dedicated venue show. The evening will feature a full big band set with featured soloists, original compositions, and original arrangements.

𝐅𝐔𝐍𝐊𝐃 is a big band made up of young musicians, from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music community. The band performs regularly at private functions and events, often shapeshifting to suit each gig, from trios, quartets, quintets, septets all the way up to orchestras.

Directed by 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐱 𝐏𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐚, the ensemble is built around developing musicianship and community, all while having a good time. The program includes new and 𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐛𝐲 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐱 𝐏𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐚, 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐑𝐮𝐞, 𝐓𝐞𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐢 𝐔𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐢, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐚 𝐖𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐚𝐧, alongside some classics.

This show marks a significant step for FUNKD and brings the ensemble together at full scale. It’s a chance to hear where the band is now — and where it’s heading next.
