Markle has a big heart — and right now, The Master’s Pantry could really use it by helping the hungry, one drink at a time.
About 1 in 8 children in our area have experienced food insecurity in the last 12 months. That’s where the Master’s Pantry steps in. They quietly feed 96 families every month, each receiving a boxed meal that stretches to cover five full family dinners. But lately, the demand is outpacing their resources — and that’s where we can step in to help to fight food insecurity.
On Saturday, November 8 starting at 4:00 PM, The Pickle is turning into a place where good food and cold drinks meet a great cause.
They’ve even decided to let me — your friendly Town Council President — step behind the bar as a “celebrity bartender.” (The word “celebrity” might be generous, but hey, the drinks will be real!). The last time I tended bar was 24 years ago...when I was studying for the bar.
Here’s how you can help: Bring a canned food item to donate, or Add $1 to your tab for a special drink discount.
Tip generously: All my wages and every tip I earn will go straight to The Master’s Pantry. Some people have already started to tip me!
Stick around for dinner, enjoy the college football games, and spend a fun evening with friends — all while helping a local organization that feeds our neighbors across Markle, Huntington, and Wells counties.
Come hungry, come thirsty, and come ready to do some good times and meet new friends.
