This Camp will expand on previous sessions on Weathering with PanPastels. We will explore different products related to the weathering process, starting with washes and finishing with pastels. We will also look at the process of pre-shading painted models.
The Division will supply PanPastels, a pre-painted boxcar shell, smaller detail brushes, larger flat brushes for applying thinner and various sponges and applicators for the various products. We will also have small pallets, basic weathering washes and odorless thinner for use with the washes.
Participants should bring other rolling stock they wish to weather. Any equipment you bring should be sprayed with a coat of semi-gloss finish, prior to class. A flat finish will be applied after washes are applied. PLEASE use either Tamiya or Mr. Hobby semi-gloss finish only. Please bring either Tamiya or Mr. Hobby flat finish to class, if you have it.
Please remember to wear something you don’t mind getting pastel finger prints on. They can be a bit messy but we’ll work to mitigate that issue. Please also bring something to drink and a snack, if you wish. This is June in Hotlanta and it will be warm!
I’ve attached a couple of photos of colors I have available for washes. I’ll also bring shades of dark gray panel liners. If you wish to try other colors of washes, please bring them with you. I’ve found a nice array of wash colors at HobbyTown USA in Kennesaw.
Please remember that this is a member-only Division event. The price of the event is $15.00 to help cover the cost of supplies.
