Intermediate Birding Field Trip to Otto Armleder Memorial Park

Grab your binoculars and join us in early October for a birding trip to the Otto Armleder Memorial Park on the east side of Cincinnati near Lunken Airport. This birding field trip is hosted by Cincinnati Nature Center.

This field trip will focus on fall birding and songbird migration. Early October should bring a good mix of feathered residents and fall migrants (including the very confusing fall warblers). Bird plumages in the fall are particularly challenging because adults lose bright spring colors while immatures have yet to reach maturity. We will focus on the nuances of identifying fall birds to help participants attain more expertise. We will try to find as many bird species as possible while covering the diverse habitats present at this great park. We will explore forest, open grassy field, edge, and riparian habitats.

Hiking is essentially flat but could include some minor hills with potentially slippery trails depending on the conditions at the time.

Preregistration required. Member adults $12; nonmember adults $18.
